Ford's 1968 intermediate-sized Torino was an all-new model, available in a "fastback" body configuration with a Cobra Jet engine displacing 428 cubic inches. These cars proved to be aerodynamically superior to the competition on the NASCAR super speedways, earning Ford the season's points championship.

This Raven Black Torino GT with Red C-Stripes was a mild-mannered street version:  it came with a more docile 390-cid 4-barrel power plant but looked like a racer.
