After an exhaustive research of the automotive marketplace, for 1958 model year the Ford Motor Company developed an entirely new division, and the "Edsel" was born. It came at the same time of an economic recession, which didn't go exactly well for a new vehicle that was geared at "the young executive on the way up."
Besides the unfortunate timing of the launch of the Edsel, the car also had styling accents that was far from bringing joy to potential buyers, in fact when the automotive media described the front end with its vertical grille as being similar to a toilet seat, that certainly didn't help the sales situation!
Ford killed off the Edsel as soon as it could, lasting less than three complete model years. However today, all these years later, a restored Edsel (with its "distinctive" styling) has a way of being a real conversation starter.
I was really impressed with the quality of the poster when it came. It looks really cool in my son's new apartment.
