I was really impressed with the quality of the poster when it came. It looks really cool in my son's new apartment.

The

1938 Gulf-Miller

Designed and built specifically for the 1938 running of the Indianapolis 500 race, the Gulf-Miller rear-engined Indy racer was owned by Preston Tucker, and this was long before he built his very own production car in 1948.

This race car features the engine located behind the driver, an inline 3-liter 6-cylinder, complete with rear-mounted supercharger and side-mounted intercooler, shifted via a 4-speed transmission.

Power went to all four wheels and finned drum brakes were used and it rolling on 16-inch diameter wire wheels wrapped with 7.50 x 16 Firestone Deluxe Champion rubber. Constructed by legendary builder Harry Miller and with sponsorship by the Gulf Motor Oil Company.
