A true sports car, the sporty Solstice roadster came from the Pontiac Motor Division of General Motors in 2006 and was built for enthusiasts. The well-handling, lightweight car featured curved, muscular styling and provided a rigid chassis construction using hydro-formed rails with double-walled driveshaft tunnel.
Power came from a DOHC 4-valve per cylinder 2.4 liter inline four, backed by a 5-speed manual gearbox. Textbook sports car components came as part of the 2850-pound two-seater package, including rack-and-pinion steering, forged aluminum front and rear control arms, independent front and rear coil spring suspension (using Bilstein gas-monotube shocks), plus 4 wheel disc braking.
Incorporated it the design was a balanced 52/48 front/rear weight bias. Solstice rolled on 8x18-inch alloy wheels wrapped with sticky Goodyear Eagle rubber. In 2010 when Pontiac was discontinued, sadly so did was the Solstice.
I was really impressed with the quality of the poster when it came. It looks really cool in my son's new apartment.
