Ford Motor Company had kept the Mustang alive throughout the years and for 2005 came the arrival of the redesigned 5th generation version. The pictured GT models came standard with an all aluminum SOHC (Single Overhead Camshaft) Modular V8 that was 4.6 liter in output, using 3 valves per cylinder, mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Up front MacPherson struts with coil springs were used, with a live real axle mated to coil spring suspension. Vented disc brakes incorporated front and rear (12.4-inch and 11.8-inch diameters) equipped with ABS. 17-inch diameter wheels were fitted.
The restyled body shell rode on a 107.1-inch wheelbase and continued the trademark "long nose, short deck" and a rear wing was standard on GTs, along with grille-mounted fog lamps. The 3520-pound GT could run to sixty miles per hour in 5.1 seconds, with a 1/4-mile time of 13.6 seconds at 99 mph. Top speed was electronically limited to 145 miles per hour.
I was really impressed with the quality of the poster when it came. It looks really cool in my son's new apartment.
