Chevrolet's all-new "Task Force" series of pickup trucks debuted for the 1955 model year run, with a three year run of this body style. The redesign included a modernized shape, characterized by a more streamlined body. A lower and flatter hood, panoramic wraparound windshield and elimination of running boards were the visual changes, plus under the hood was now an available V8 engine.
Today there's numerous aftermarket upgrades available for these trucks, and the pictured 1957 Series 3100 stepside example has a lowered stance, larger wheels and tires and subtle touches such as the side vent windows and door handles being removed. The vast majority of these classic haulers were used for farm and utility duty, and all these years later these old workhorses have such a unique flavor when seen cruising the boulevard!
