1945 Ford 3/4 Ton Pickup

Vintage Work Truck

No Ford trucks were available for civilian use in 1943 and 1944, because of the war. Production did start up again in 1945 (carry-over models from the 1942 model year) as the manufacture of non-military pickup trucks was approved by Washington, but with rationing aimed at helping farmers.

The "waterfall" design grille added distinction to the front view of Ford trucks, and power came from a standard equipment V8 Flathead 100-horsepower engine. 3-speed manual transmission with 6-Volt electrical system used. Rubber was still in shortage and because of it, spare tires were not included until 1946 models.
