When Dodge decided to bring out a new, modernized retro-themed Challenger starting in early 2008, it ran on the corporation’s LX platform and had a shape that very much replicated the flavor of the original cars from 1970-'74.
And the good new for the updated Challenger was the availability of a hemi-head engine, this one with modern fuel injection and improved daily-driving characteristics, plus available air conditioning. Hemi Challengers were only available in the past on 1970 and '71 models and are highly cherished today by collectors.
The pictured Header Orange-colored 2014 Challenger R/T with function "Shaker" hood scoop to feed the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 fresh air is great example of showing the was Dodge was able to produce a car that has all the nostalgia of the early '70s but with modern handling and performance.
