2004 Ford Shelby Cobra

A Modernized Interpretation of The Original AC Cobra

This futuristic Cobra version was built in 2004 to honor the original 427 AC Cobra from Carroll Shelby. The sleek, aerodynamic car was fitted with a Double Overhead Camshaft 605-horsepower Ford 6.4-liter prototype V10 engine, backed by a 6-speed manual transaxle.

It featured huge, cross-drilled disc brakes and Z-rated wide rubber treads for traction —18-inch in front and 19-inch in the rear.  This concept was a 21st century take on the original Cobras from the 1960s.

A fun, fast, compact roadster with a theoretical top speed of 260 miles per hour — radical enough for Carroll Shelby to give it his stamp of approval.
