1949 Dodge

The Wayfarer Roadster

February 1949 saw the introduction of Dodge's first new body style after the war, shown here, the 2-door, 3-passenger Wayfarer Roadster.  These entry-level, low-cost Dodge models came with an inline 6-cylinder 230-cid engine, producing 103 horsepower, with Gyro-Matic semi-automatic transmission available as an extra-cost option.

This early-production car featured detachable side windows, and behind the seat was a narrow bench for storing items, or small children.
