Featured more punch under the hood
“Money doesn’t buy happiness” is the old saying, but in the case of this 1971 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible, maybe it did. Back some 34 years ago, as the story goes, a female novelist who lived in France purchased a brand new Plymouth Pony Car. The car was unique as it wasn’t a regular model Barracuda but the upgraded high-performance “‘Cuda” version that featured more punch under the hood and a beefier suspension system for high-performance driving.
when it came time toselect the powerplant, the option code “E74” was chosen: the “426 Hemi” engine! This was an $883.90 addition to the base price of the car ($3412.00) but forwhatever reason, the 425-hp “King Kong” mill was selected.
